Privacy Policy

LEAP’s privacy statement describes the information we collect from clients and visitors to this site and explains how it is used. Please be assured that we will protect the privacy of users and ensure that any data is not misused in any way or passed on to any third party.

Information Collection & Usage

The information we may collect is comprised mainly of anonymous data. This is gathered from users to the site and is compiled using an analytical tool. The statistical information gleaned is compiled of IP address, duration of visit, which pages were looked at and for how long etc. The information is used by LEAP School of Performing Arts to analyse the effectiveness of its website and to make subsequent improvements.

Personally identifiable information is collected from users who use the online contact form or who subscribe to any other news feeds, blogs or special offers which may be included on the site. Specifically, this may include name, user name, address, telephone number and email address. This information is treated as strictly confidential and will not be passed to any third party unless permission is given, or in legal circumstances.

LEAP ensures to protect the child’s and their parents’ data accordingly.   Our Privacy Policy has been written in order that students can understand what information we hold and how we use this information.

LEAP School of Performing Arts provides classes in performing Arts – these include Dance; Drama and Singing.  The age range is from 5 – 19-year olds.  

The students perform shows to the public in theatres, as well as school halls, and including open air fayres. During show runs and rehearsals Boys have separate dressing rooms to girls in. 

We take your privacy seriously and so the only data we take is needed for us, to conduct our business. Your information will never be sold, but we may have to share some information with another professional bodies, for example when entering pupils for exams i.e.: LAMDA, Arts Award.

Any information we hold has been collated from forms completed by the parents or guardian when applying to the school. This includes:

  • Names
  • Dates of Birth
  • Telephone numbers
  • Email addresses

Any medical information the parent feels we should know about as it may affect their ability in class.

LEAP requires parents keep us informed of any relevant changes to the data, so we always have the most up to date information.

We also require signed permission to record and photograph our shows, which are then used for training purposes or for parent’s private home use.  These are again on the pupil’s enrolment sheet.

No credit card details are taken by LEAP.

LEAP only retains information that we actually need.   This data is needed to be able to communicate with parents/guardians and students; for our LEAP staff to be aware of any medical information which might be applicable, and to pass on to exam bodies when the Students are taking exams. We only deal with official exam bodies all of whom have to be compliant with the new GPDR standards.

Electronic data is held on a secure private network which is password protected. Hard copy information is held within a private, secure cupboard.

When pupils leave the school, this information is destroyed/deleted in line with regulations unless parents wish to keep in touch and hear of future information and events.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

LEAP uses traffic log cookies purely for analytical purposes, as described above, and essentially track which pages have been visited so we can improve our website. Cookies in no way give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually alter your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of some websites.
